“The heart of the Waldorf method is the conviction that education is an art – it must speak to the child’s experience. To educate the whole child, his heart and will must be reached as well as his mind.”
– Rudolf Steiner

At Wild Beginnings, we believe in a holistic approach to child-led learning, in a nurturing environment, and educating the whole child…hands, heart, and mind…thinking, feeling, willing. We incorporate STEM activities year round and our curriculum is inspired by amazing educators, like Maria Montessori, Rudolf Steiner, Charlotte Mason, Reggio Emilia and Meghan Fitzgerald.

We aim to create a welcoming and nurturing environment where social and emotional skills as well as flow and mindfulness are developed within our students. Our curriculum is play-based and it allows students to move at their own pace while developing confidence, compassion, self-regulation skills, and a lifelong love for learning. We also incorporate unstructured free play into our curriculum, which involves activities like fort building, climbing trees, dam or bridge construction, inspired fairy houses and anything that fosters your child’s interests.

Ultimately, we aspire to celebrate different learning styles and intentionally focus on assisting your child explore the development of their multiple intelligences through problem-solving, collaborating, critical thinking and communication. The nature and nurture of resilience is essential as well as instilling a growth mindset, optimizing creativity and integrating authentic experiences. Your child’s social, emotional, and physical development is the cornerstone of a solid foundation for building independent lifelong learning.
