Boise’s First Kids Adventure Race!
Team adventure race for kids and families! Two exciting courses including an Expedition Course for 6-10 year olds with fellow child or adult partner and an Explore Course for 3-5 year olds and adult partner.
Activities include hiking, biking, rock wall climbing and more!

Expedition Course 1 child and 1 adult or another child team
Expeditions Course Ages 6-10 ($50 Per Person – Early Bird Special):
This exciting course features basic orienteering, scavenger hunt, mountain biking, hiking, rock wall climbing, and more. Activities split up on a ~1.2 mile and 370 vertical gain out and back course.
Estimated time 30-60+ minutes
Explore Course 1 child and 1 adult team
Explore Course Ages 3-5 ($30 Per Person – Early Bird Special):
This non-competitive but awesome course features rotating adventure stations including biking (strider or child bike, training wheels okay), scavenger hunt, obstacle course, and other fun challenges.
Estimated time: 45-60 minutes
Because of the nature of adventure racing the full details and map of the course are hidden until the day of. This way it is a new adventure for everyone.

Logistics/Rules
Expedition Course:
- Expedition course will consist of basic orienteering/scavenger hunt, mountain biking, hiking, rock wall climbing, and more
- Teams will have two racers one of which must be a 6-10 year old and other being a fellow 6-10 year old or adult partner
- All racers will wear a helmet, backpack, bike gloves, knee and elbow pads (highly recommended), provided bib, and provided course map of the entire course
- Course and activities will be marked on provided map
- Racer will follow course route
- All racers must complete orienteering/scavenger hunt, hiking, and biking portions confirmed by self stamped bib
- At least one racers on team must attempt climbing portion for team to finish
- Racers who make it to the top of climb will receive a -5 minutes bonus
- Not following, cutting, or altering course will result in +5 minute penalty
- Racers not wearing required gear for the entire duration of race will result in +5 minute penalty
- Teams must stay together and cross the finish line together
- At the finish teams will present their self stamped bibs to staff and be scored based on completed portions, bonuses, penalties, and time
- Racers will be in view of volunteers at all times and volunteers will have communication with race directors
- Course will be heavily marked and guided by volunteers
- Professional medical staff will be on standby during event
- Spectators are welcome to watch and cheer anywhere along the course
- This race may have waves/heats to reduce crowding
Explore Course:
- Explore course will consist rotating stations of biking (strider or child bike-training wheels ok), scavenger hunt, obstacle course, and other fun challenges around the Frontier Point Lodge
- Teams will have two racers one of which must be a 3-5 years old and other being an adult partner
- All youth racers will wear a helmet and provided bib
- Racers will follow rotating stations course route
- Completion of stations will be confirmed by self stamped bib
- Teams must stay together and cross the finish line together
- Racers will be in view of volunteers at all times and volunteers will have communication with race directors
- Course will be guided by volunteers
- Professional medical staff will be on standby during event
- Spectators are welcome to watch and cheer anywhere along the course
